Parent Week

Bravo does a parent week at the end of each "term" for preschool and thankfully I was able to attend Kinsey's!! I was so proud of my little girl and was amazed at how much 3 year old can actually learn.  I HIGHLY recommend Bravo Arts Academy, every class Kinsey has taken there as been awesome :)  The kids did a craft then sang us some songs along with sign language.  Kinsey's teacher, Ms. Brown is awesome and Kinsey talks about her all the time!  She is so good with all the kids and I can tell she enjoys what she does!
Making crafts :)

Of course we had to stop at Krispy Kream and celebrate :)

So proud of my girl!

Mommy Instincts

So Kinsey got sick at school on Halloween (Thursday) but it seemed to be fine afterwards.  We did the whole trick or treating, ate dinner, had fun, the BAM she got sick again!  This time it stuck around and she couldn't even keep ice down :(  I felt so bad for her but just assumed it was a 24 hour bug and she would feel better soon.  I limited her fluid intake and only let her eat bland foods but that still was not helping.  Friday she would not eat anything but didn't seem sick, then Friday night she was sick AGAIN! I was so confused and had no idea what the heck was going on.  So all day Saturday I made her take it easy, stay on the couch, and only have fluids with crackers.  Still she was unable to keep anything down!  All night Saturday she was sick but I thought for sure she would be better Sunday right?! WRONG!  She was worse!  So I decided to take her to IHC insta care but when we got there they had a 110min wait and I was not about to sit there that long with a sick kiddo.  Then Brandon did some research and discovered that Wee Care is open 24/7 so we made an apt and went there.  The MA didn't even take a full set of vitals on her, and she didn't check her temperature accurately but I figured the dr would be thorough. I was WRONG again!  The dr came in pushed on her belly a little and said, "well she isn't complaining of any pain, so just wait it out." then left.. I was furious!!! Back home we went with no answers and a very sick kiddo.  Finally Kinsey was able to get some rest and fell asleep on the couch and I decided to keep her there while we ate and as I was getting ready to sit down I noticed she was throwing up in her sleep and not even waking up (sorry if that TMI)  I FREAKED out, put her in the bath and rushed her to the ER.  The whole way there I was bawling and reminding myself to drive safe!  We got there and Kinsey couldn't even keep her head up or eyes open.  So in I walked, carrying my child and bawling.  Im sure I was quite the sight ;)  They took a full set of vitals and said her heart rate was way high and she had a fever!  Signs of dehydration! They admitted her immediately and I finally started to calm down because I knew she was going to be taken care of.  It didn't take long for the dr to come in and discuss his treatment plan with me and I really appreciated his efforts before shoving meds into my child.  He wanted to see how she reacted to ice, and of course it came back up, so then he gave her a large dose of Zofran sublingually and the nurse came in with several different juices and crackers for her to eat.  The team at McKay truly was AMAZING!! I couldn't have asked for better.. The nurse sat in the room and talked to Kinsey and encouraging her to drink her juice. Half hour passed and she was able to keep everything down so the dr came in a said he wanted us to stay for another half hour and for her hear rate to go down a little bit more and for her to drink all the juice she had left.  About 10 minutes before we could leave Kinsey perked right back up!  She kicked me out of the bed with her, and was being her normal wild self :) She then fell asleep on the way home and slept through the entire night and when she woke up in the morning we gave her some more Zofran and she was able to eat!  Finally by Tuesday she was starting to feel better but we gave her Zofran before meals just incase.  Wednesday she was BETTER!!  That dang stomach bug lasted WAY TOO LONG!  Her dr believes it was the rotavirus and because she was immunized for it, it wasn't as severe.. I would HATE to see what that virus would do to a child not immunized!

Halloween!!!

Halloween was NOT the same this year.. we did out pumpkin decorating, and I made the girls costumes, but I just was not feeling it.  On the actual day of Halloween I had to go to clinicals all day and I was not happy about it.  I had to miss Kinsey's carnival at school, and I was exhausted when it came time to go trick-or-treating.  Next year will be better :) and the most important part is my girls had fun!  Their costumes were such a hit as well, I was quite proud!
My chickens!! The gloves freaked Harper out so she would not wear them on her feet ha!

Kinsey at school :)

that face lol
While at clinicals I am not allowed to have my phone, so I made sure to leave Brandon and my moms number for emergency contact.. Well Kinsey threw up at school and they still called me instead of them! I felt so bad when I got the voicemail 4 hours later :( Her teacher said she seemed fine and was probably just over excited.. She was able to stay for the rest of the festivities.

The lady next to Kinsey is Ms. Brown, her teacher.  We LOVE her!!!

I stressed about these hats BIG time.. trying to find a white beanie in children sizes was impossible! I found these hats in the women's section at Old Navy and then I had to do some major adjusting and hemming, but I think they turned out pretty good :)

I am one LUCKY girl!! :)

Grandma and Grandpa supplied them with LOTS of candy ;)

Grandpa Rob told Kinsey to put her hands behind her back and peck like a chicken lol

Trick or treating in grandma and grandpas neighborhood :)

So remember how I said Kinsey threw up at school... Well she was fine after that and ate lunch, dinner, and played not once  complaining of a belly ache until we got home.  She gave me about a 2 second warning that she was going to "frow" up! Poor girl coldnt keep even ice down after that :( I just figured it was too much candy even though she didn't have very much.. but I was wrong!

Fall Festivities!

Well now that it has snowed a couple times, I think its important that I blog about our fall haha!! Fall is my favorite time of year for so many reasons.  The smells, colorful leaves, cool nights, and perfect weather.  We didn't get out as much as I would have hoped for due to our crazy schedules, but the girls got to play in our leaves a few times and we have been on a couple walks.

It is a tradition every year to go to Black Island Farms and this year was no different :)  Usually we go in the evening and everything is shutting down and its freezing outside, so this year we went earlier and it was MUCH more enjoyable!  The girls and I had so much fun going down the slides! We also saw the farm animals and a little boy gave the girls corn to feed them and they thought that was the funniest thing.  They played in the "corn" box, went through the corn maze and of course the hay ride to get our pumpkins!

Showing me her muscles :)

Brave girl! I was nervous to go down this slide lol

Painting pumpkins at Grandma and Grandpa's

Our tree dumps leaves twice.  Once right before it snows, then after a huge snow storm.  So we usually have to rake up soggy wet leaves in the snow, but this year we finally got to play in some leaves!!

I love these two!!!

haha this is totally random, but the girls decided to ride on the laundry soap one morning.  I thought it was hilarious! ..the things they come up with..

I wish fall lasted longer than winter.. I am not a fan of the snow!
