The Christmas Sweater...

I just came across this picture and had to post it for memories lol..  Brandon came home with a bag from the D.I. with a few Christmas sweaters in them.  He has been bound and determined to have an "ugly" sweater for quite some time now!  Well this one sweater was just a plain women sweatshirt with a tree on it. Brandon had this brilliant idea do add lights to it.  He searched store after store looking for battery operated lights, and just when I thought he had given up, he came home with some lol.  So he asked if I could help him  and we made holes in the shirt and hot glued the lights into this sweatshirt.  I was so confused and kind of bugged because I had a million and one other things I needed to be doing, but when it was all done Brandon was so happy!  I will admit now that its over that it was a pretty awesome sweater.  He wore it to my family Christmas party and his family party, which by the way were not "ugly sweater" parties LOL  I love this silly guy so much and there is never a dull moment with him around ;)  Oh and the vest was a wonderful addition he found.. as if the sweater wasnt enough lol

building "nomen"

Kinsey is quite the little out doors girl and loves to play in the snow (as long as she has gloves on of course).  The day after Christmas both girls had a little bit of a runny nose so I was afraid to take them out in the cold and them get even sicker!  But I was itching to go outside the other day especially because the sun was shinning! So we bundled up and went outside to build a snowman!  I have probably made 1 or 2 snowmen in my life so I am by all mean NOT a pro.. and I couldnt get the dang snow to pack into a ball.  So we improvised and Kinsey made a snow "mound" and put a carrot for the nose and some M&M's for the eyes and mouth.  She was quite proud of him, and so was I lol!  After that we went for a walk around the block in their new wagon from Santa!  Harper loved it so much and was so relaxed by the end of the walk that she was leaning over on the side haha!  It felt so good to get some fresh air and to get outside.  Now hurry up and get here SPRING!!! ;)

making snow angles

Kinsey's "nomen".. dont judge! I didnt grow up around snow and had no idea a snow man can only be built with certain snow.. Snow is snow in my book haha

Christmas evening!

Brandons parents cooked a dinner on Christmas day and had some close family come over.  The girls got to open more gifts and play, and have a good time!

this was the best family pic we could get.. HA!

Christmas morning

It amazing how much work goes into planing and preparing for one morning! I had so much fun this year getting ready for Christmas with the girls.  Going to see lights, reading Christmas stories, watching Christmas movies, and making yummy treats was just a little bit of what we did to get in the Christmas spirit :)
We were out pretty late on Christmas eve so the girls slept in until 830am on Christmas morning!! I felt like the little kid because I was up at 6am lol I did have to prepare our cinnamon rolls but after that I just sat around waiting for my family to wake up.  Finally they woke up and were so excited to see what Santa had brought! Mine and Brandon's family traditions is to have most of the stuff that Santa brings out and set up.  So this year Santa brought the girls a wagon, Kinsey got a barbie guitar she has been wanting since the day she saw it, and Harper got a play station that fits her perfect!  He also filled their stocking full of fun stuff ;)

My dad came over on Christmas morning and ate breakfast with us and opened gifts from each other.  I loved having him come over and spend one on one time with my girls, and I know they loved it too!

Her barbie guitar!! (Dont mind her mis match jammies... she HAD to wear those pants with it lol)

BUSTED! haha

They decided they wanted to open the rest of their presents in the wagon :)

Brandon finally got his own golf clubs!!

Christmas Eve

Coming from a split family, holidays are usually quite stressful on me! Especially since I am now married and have a family of my own.  This year I decided to cut back and finally say "no".  It was one of the hardest things I have ever done because I am not one who easily says no haha!  But for the sake of my sanity and my girls, we minimized our family parties and we still got to see everyone and had a great time!  Usually on Christmas Eve we go to my grandmas for a little bit, then rush to Brandon's grandmas.  This year we just went to my grandmas and stayed there!  It was nice to to have to rush around haha.  We ate lots of yummy food, laughed a ton, and got to spend quality time with that family.  Sometimes its hectic to be squished inside my grandma's little home, but thats what holidays are about right?! Being close and around lots of family!!

Early Christmas

Last year both the girls got so overwhelmed with all their Christmas gifts and lost interest really fast.  So this year my mom decided to start the tradition of doing Christmas the Saturday before the actual day! It worked out perfect :) My mom was able to get my brother's little girl Addy so we had a small little get together and the girls had a blast! I didnt get as many pic as I would like, probably because I was busy chasing little girls and having fun :)

True love! ;)

Cookies and lights!

This year we went over to Brandon's parents house to decorate cookies and go to the Ogden lights.  It was FREEZING, but so much fun!!
